There was never actually a person named Margaret Sheridan... In 1967, Tim and Libby Denny bought a small interior decorating business from Mrs Cynthia De Grey. Mrs De Grey had started the business in the 1950s and named it Margaret Sheridan because 20 years earlier she had worked for a decorator called Jane Sheridan!
Over the last 40 years, Tim and Libby, and their team of designers and craftsmen have built a reputation for flawless taste, timeless style and unrivalled attention to detail. After Tim's death in 1993 Libby continued expanding the business, and in 2010 moved the business to its present site in a converted stable block
Libby's particular specialty is restoration – whether designing and commissioning hand-blocked wallpapers and hand-woven silks, returning a stately home to its 18th century grandeur, or working with architects and developers to save the original oak beams in a barn conversion.
Please visit the Portfolio page to see some examples of Margaret Sheridan work.
The Margaret Sheridan Showrooms are open Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 5.00pm and Saturdays by appointment.
Libby Denny is proud to be a Member of the British Institute of Interior Design and a BIID Registered Interior Designer.
